2015 Municiple Achievement Award - All Electric Bus Transit The City of Seneca can boast it is the first city in the country with an all-electric, fare-free bus system. The five electric buses, built by a South Carolina manufacturer, replaced the city’s diesel buses that were polluting the air and expensive to fuel. Each electric bus runs on six large lithium batteries and has a lifespan of 12 years and 500,000 miles. For More Information CLICK HERE!

ROUTE: Red Route BEGINS: Wednesday, July 1st – for the Summer Schedule: Monday thru Thursdays NOTICE: The Red Route bus – During the Summer Schedule, on Monday thru Thursday evenings, the CATbus route will now continue to operate until 8:30pm (the last bus from C.U. Bryan Circle will depart @ 8:20pm)…instead of ending @ 6:30pm. The Friday evening hours will remain the same and not change.

Dewitt Martin Honored For 20 Years of Service.
 The assistant utilities director for Seneca, Dewitt Martin, left last night's city council meeting with an engraved plaque in recognition of 20 years service to the former Oconee Sewer Commission and the modern day Oconee Joint Regional Sewer Authority.  Until recently replaced, Martin served as a Seneca representative to the authority which sets policy for wastewater services in Oconee County.  The plaque was presented by Mayor Dan Alexander, who said it is his city's intentions...

Seneca Appoints New Fire Chief
Jan Oliver has been appointed the new Fire Chief for the Seneca Fire Department. Jan has been with the Department since March of 1986 and was Captain before being awarded Chiefs position. He was Fire Marshall for 5 years so Chief Oliver brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his new position as Fire Chief of the Seneca Fire Department. Congratulations Fire Chief Jan Oliver!

Job Shadowing at City Hall!
Justyn Gibson, an 8th grader at West Oak Middle School, job shadowed his grandmother Code Enforcement Officer Tina Kirby on Friday, February 25, 2011. He was able to view  and participate in some of the duties that his grandmother and other employees do throughout the day. Plus,  a lot of the employees had the previlige to meet Justyn. Justyn's grandfather Detective Ken Kirby also works for the City of Seneca.
