(Walhalla, SC)--------------------------------------The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in regards to locating four children who were last seen in the company of their mother.

The four girls, 10 year old Lillian Marie Bennett, 9 year old Minnie May Blanche Bennett, 8 year old Carolina Amaryles Bennett, and 6 year old Emily Grace Bennett live with their father at a Shelor Ferry Road address in Fair Play. Their mother, 44 year old Laverne Marie Bennett of 640 Fairfield Road, 43B, in Walhalla, South Carolina, has visitation rights every other weekend, according to Oconee County Sheriff’s Deputies.

According to investigators, the mother picked the children up this past weekend and was scheduled to return them on July 7th. The mother has yet to return them and has not been seen or heard from since.

Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Issues Warrants as the Search Continues for Four Missing Girls

(Walhalla, SC)------------------------------------The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office has issued four warrants against the mother who picked up her four daughters over the Independence Day weekend, but has not yet returned them to their father.

44 year old Laverne Marie Bennett of 340 Fairfield Road, Lot 3-B, in Walhalla, is now facing four counts of Custodial Interference. Oconee County Sheriff’s Deputies obtained four warrants, one for each girl that is missing, yesterday.

According to the warrants, Bennett is accused of failing to return each minor female child under the age of 16 years old on July 7th at 6pm Eastern Time to their father, Bruce L. Bennett, “whom the Family Court of the 10th Judicial Circuit awarded primary placement.” The Family Court ordered this primary placement, according to the warrants, on October 24th, 2012.

The warrant also alleges that Bennett “has concealed” the children from Bruce L. Bennett, “who has primary placement and from law enforcement.”

The four warrants are for each of the four children who are missing, 10 year old Lillian Marie Bennett, 9 year old Minnie May Blanche Bennett, 8 year old Carolina Amaryles Bennett, and 6 year old Emily Grace Bennett. The warrants list the incident as occurring at 713 Shelor Ferry Road in Fair Play, which is the father’s residence.

According to South Carolina law, since the children were not returned within 72 hours of the violation, each charge is now considered a felony, and carries a penalty of up to five
