Seneca receives State Award

Seneca receives State Award from Events Association

For the second year in a row, the South Carolina Festival and Events Association recognized the City of Seneca for being best in the state. At their annual conference, the association presented the city with the 2014 best event t-shirt design award.

“We had a chance to enter some of our events that we do each year at the conference and this year we received the best event t-shirt design award,” said Seneca Events Coordinator Riley Johnson.

Previously the city won best event for Jazz on the Alley. Last year, the city was honored with the best event t-shirt design award for Jazz on the Alley’s Jazzing for a Cure.

“This year, we submitted Cruisin’ on Main’s t-shirt, Cruisin’ for a Cure and the folks at the association found that was the best in South Carolina for 2014,” adds Johnson.

The association presented Johnson and Seneca Recreation Director Rick Lacey with the award at their conference, Jan. 20-22, at Myrtle Beach.

“All the city events are growing and it is nice to get recognized for all the hard work that you do throughout the year. In addition, it is always good for our city to get that kind of exposure,” concluded Johnson.

The 2014 best event t-shirt design award as well as the other awards from the South Carolina Festival and Events Association are on display at Seneca City Hall.
