Eclipse 2017

This coming summer on August 21, 2017, Clemson and the neighboring cities will experience a total solar eclipse where the Moon's shadow will fall across the United States and block the light of the Sun over the course of approximately three hours. Eclipses themselves are not rare, but the chance to see one in your own backyard is very special!

Visit The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Clemson University

The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Clemson University is kicking off our first event tomorrow evening to start telling our local community about this amazing event and how they can get involved. I am writing to request if you can please post our flyer on your social media outlets to help us advertise the public forum we are hosting. Astronomers from the University of California Berkeley and Clemson University will be on hand to discuss how to take photographs of the eclipse and participate in a citizen science project called the Eclipse Megamovie.
