Hike for Hope

Hike for Hope

In acknowledgement of Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, the School District of Oconee County, along with multiple community partners including Making my Mark, Oconee County, and Blue Ridge Electric Coop, invites you to attend one of our 3 community “It’s Time to Talk” events – Sept 23rd at Walhalla High School, Sept 24 at Seneca High School or Sept 26th at West-Oak Middle school. These events will take place from 6:00PM-7:00PM. Join us as we address the difficult topics of suicide and mental health. Hear personal stories, learn about available resources, and meet counselors and mental health professionals that serve our students.
These events will culminate with the Hike for Hope, which will take place on Saturday, Sept 28 from 9AM to 1PM at Blue Ridge Electric Coop, with the hike beginning at 10AM. This family-friendly event will have inflatables, food, DJ, face painting, as well as a resource fair.
Information about these events will be sent home with students this week. We can all help prevent suicide. Together let’s work to inspire hope for all within our community.
