Seneca Fest 5K
The weather was beautiful at 8 am on Saturday morning as over 150 runners lined up for the 2nd Annual Seneca Fest 5K in front of the Shaver Complex. Anticipation and nerves settle as the horn sounds -- signaling the start of the race to Seneca Baptist Churh and back. 3.125 grueling miles! Rosenwald Schools - Reflection and Revival!
In 2002, the National Trust for Historic Preservation placed Rosenwald schools on its list of America's 11 most Endangered Historic Places to raise national awareness of Rosenwald schools. Job Shadowing at City Hall!
Justyn Gibson, an 8th grader at West Oak Middle School, job shadowed his grandmother Code Enforcement Officer Tina Kirby on Friday, February 25, 2011. He was able to view  and participate in some of the duties that his grandmother and other employees do throughout the day. Plus,  a lot of the employees had the previlige to meet Justyn. Justyn's grandfather Detective Ken Kirby also works for the City of Seneca.

It happened on a Monday in Liberty, SC -  November 1, 2010.  Two teams met to battle the battle of the year - the 2010 Palmetto State Championship  for the 12 and under division in football.   Both teams had played and trained hard all season! The City Gives Back!
Money and canned food collected during the July 4th Celebration  was presented to local charities in the city at the City Council Meeting on Tuesday July 13, 2010. Upstate Farmers Enjoy the 'Fruit of Their Labor'
Looking for locally grown produce? It is here at The Farmer's Market in Seneca- open Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday morning from 6 a.m. until 12 p.m.   If you are interested in a spot to share your produce - there is no cost for space however participants must first be registered with the Clemson Extension Service in Walhalla. Then bring us a copy of the permit you recieve there and we will issue you a city placard.

The Marines Are Coming To Seneca - June 7th
For the second year, Keowee Key will be hosting wounded Marines. Let's show are support and line the streets of Seneca to welcome these marines who have served our nation.  The marines will arrive in Easley, SC on June 7th and start making their track through the upstate at 3 pm arriving in Seneca at around 4 pm. Veterans Appreciation Family Night
Grab your families and your lawn chairs and come have fun at this free family night out in honor of the Veterans. Festivities begin at 6:30 pm on June 8th at the Gignilliat Field. A Hanging In Seneca - Thursday Morning at 8:00 A.M.!
A quilt hanging that is and yes at 8:00 am. The trellis and window box are both in place and ready for pictures as the last step is complete - the hanging of the Ballenger Quilt.
