The City of Seneca is currently accepting applications for the positions of Part Time
Firefighter to fill several vacancies.

Minimum qualifications include a minimum age of 18, high school graduate or equivalent,
excellent physical condition, good moral character, excellent communications skills as well
as are able to withstand a rigid background investigation, including polygraph.

Preferred Requirements
IFSAC/NBFSQ NFPA 1001 Firefighter I
IFSAC/NBFSQ NFPA 1001 Firefighter II
Hazardous materials Operations
South Carolina EVDT certification
South Carolina Class E or F Drivers License/ Permit or a Commercial Driver License/Permit

Starting salary is based on education and experience. Experienced paid fighters starting pay
is based on their number of years experience as a paid firefighter. This position requires the
employee to work 12-24 shift every third day.

The hiring process will progressively consist of the follOWing:
• Oral Interview Process
• Physical Fitness Job Task
• Background Check through SC SLED(South Carolina Law Enforcement Division)
• Drug Screen
• Medical Physical including an Ergonomic Cardio Pulmonary Stress Test

Street. Completed applications and attached resumes should be turned back into the
Personnel Office to be picked up by the Seneca Fire Department.
