JOB ANNOUNCEMENT


The Seneca Police Department is currently accepting applications for the following position:

Communications Director



Minimum qualifications include a minimum age of 18, high school graduate or equivalent, excellent physical condition, good moral character, excellent communication skills, and able to withstand a rigid background investigation, including polygraph. Candidate must be able to work a varied schedule. Prior dispatch experience required.

GENERAL PURPOSE
Directs, manages, and oversees the operations and activities of the 911 Communications Center; performs directly related work as stated in the Job Description for Dispatcher as required. The work is performed under the supervision and direction of the Patrol Captain.


DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

* Working knowledge of computers and electronic data processing.
* Extensive knowledge of telecommunications and dispatching.
* Working knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
* Working knowledge of the operations of a law enforcement agency.
* Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
* SCCJA Communications E-911 and NCIC certifications required
