The Seneca Police Department is a 43 member law enforcement agency, including 32 sworn and 11 non-sworn personnel. The department maintains Uniform Patrol, Criminal Investigations, and Records Divisions. School Resource Officers are assigned to the Seneca Middle and Seneca High Schools. Our traffic unit helps to reduce the number of accidents on our roadways, thereby making our streets safer. Our Victim’s Advocate assists persons who are victims or witnesses to crimes. The Community Services office coordinates activities and provides speakers to address various crime and safety related topics. The department is constantly working to eradicate illegal drug sales in the city. Through our Narcotics Unit, we are able to work undercover to locate and prosecute drug dealers. Seneca’s own Crime Scene Unit (CSI) is available to process crime scenes for forensic evidence, as well as photograph, document, and collect all evidence. Seneca hosts one of the two E911 Public Safety Answering Points (PSAP) in Oconee County. All 911 calls made within the city limits of Seneca are answered in our dispatch center by state certified 911 operators. The Records Division collects, records, and stores all reports generated by the department. Copies of incident reports, traffic accident reports, as well as criminal background checks can be obtained through our Records Division.
