IMPORTANT RACE UPDATE ABOUT POSTPONEMENT!!!

Hello Race for the Green participants,

WE TRIED SENDING THIS EMAIL LAST NIGHT, BUT UNFORTUNATELY MICROSOFT OUTLOOK FAILED TO SEND THE GROUP EMAIL. WE APOLOGIZE FOR THIS EXTREMELY LATE NOTICE. WE WILL TRY TO CALL ALL 600 REGISTRANTS TODAY AS WELL!

Some of you have reached out to the Race Team in the last few days to inquire if our race is proceeding as planned in light of other sporting event cancellations.

Our answer at that time was that the race would be held as planned.

However, because of the rapidly changing nature of COVID-19, and because we must always place the safety of our race participants and those hosting the event at the top of our list, we as your race team have decided to POSTPONE the RACE FOR THE GREEN instead of merely cancelling the race. This postponement means there will be NO PACKET PICK-UP ON FRIDAY.

This was not a decision lightly made, but we remain highly optimistic that moving the RACE FOR THE GREEN to a date perhaps in spring or early summer is the best option for all of us who enjoy this event so much. We will work very hard to provide for you at that time all the enthusiasm and energy generated by this event in the past. We pledge to make it a race to remember, no matter the date.

On a lighter note, who says leprechauns can’t dance the streets of Seneca in May, June....or July?!!

We will set a new date in the next two weeks or so. You can choose what option you would like:

1) use your registration and fees already on file to compete in the RACE FOR THE GREEN on the new date.

2) roll your registration and fees already on file to the same race in March in 2021.

3) request a refund for the race scheduled for March 14, 2020. Please note that if you registered on active.com, there was a small fee you paid to register online, and we cannot refund that portion.

Please do not make your decision at this point until we contact you about the future date, but we realize schedules may prohibit your joining us on the re-scheduled date, so we hope by giving you these three options, you will realize how much we value your participation in the RACE FOR THE GREEN.

Thank you for your understanding.

If you have questions, call us at 864-888-0880 on Friday morning or email us at dwilliams@seneca.sc.us

The very best health to you,

THE RACE FOR THE GREEN TEAM

Sincerely I am,
T. Scott Moulder
